Q: How many aluminum cans does it take to make one pound?
A:
On an average, 27 cans equals 1 pound.

Q: What metals are not recyclable?
A:
Almost all metals are recyclable; however, there are some metals that our yard may not be equipped to handle.  If you have materials that are not listed in our "materials handled" section, please contact us for information.

Q: Is there a minimum weight for any metal to be recycled?
A:
Not really, however, our scales are set up to weigh in one pound increments.  Anything less than one pound may not register.  There is no maximum weight.

Q: What are some of the items you don't accept?
A:
Microwave ovens, tires, gas tanks, busted or leaking batteries, anything containing oil or grease, light ballast, transmissions or motors with pans.  Contact us for information on what we will not accept.

A:
ISRI - Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.  For more information on recycling visit the ISRI web site.  You will find information for students, teachers, and others interested in the recycling process at www.isri.org.
